Le Mount St Michel sits in a bay on the border between Normandy and Brittany and at one time was probably one of the most important sites in Europe for learning and christian pilgrimages. This fortress was undoubtedly the jewel in the Christian crown of what was in the time of the  Middle Ages… Normandy.
