For episode 4 I wanted to show you more of the Normandy coast beyond Dives Sur Mer and Caen. The Normandy region is more than what most people know it for, WW2 and of course the war memorials . I did not feature any memorials in any of my videos, In fact I purposefully left them out. Although this area is where so many young men risked and many lost their lives on Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches I wanted to look beyond the war machine to the future…the freedom and natural land beauty these brave young men gave back to the people of these small French villages along the Northwest Normandy coast. Episode 2: WITW is Iriebabel? Dives Sur Mer, and Le Pointe de Cabourg Normandy, France
Dives-Sur-Mer is a small town sitting happily on the Normandy Coast of France and Le Pointe De Cabourg is the beach next to it. The sun is kissing this place. It’s small and intimate even with the many tourist who flock here from Paris and Europe in the summer time. The beach is lovely and expansive as with any other but the charm is specifically French small town, only to be found here. If only I could bottle this feeling. Dives Sur Mer is known for William the Conquerer who set sail from it’s port to fight the Normans in 1066. There is still the medieval historic market place in…
