Waterfalls(in Spain): why I love them
There is something so beautiful and peaceful about a waterfall. I love the sound of rushing water so commanding and so much power it drowns out all other noise near by. The water is usually cold, crisp, refreshing and fast moving. When I see a waterfall I am instantly in awe and find myself mesmerized and at peace. I could sit here all day. The waterfalls in this post are located near Santiago De Compostela, Spain and Muxia within a 30 min drive.

Snakes 🤷🏽♀️
I seriously hate snakes but here they are every year in my garden. Even snakes have their uses. Every year as soon as there is a hint of warm spring weather (yes it gets cold here, below freezing some days in winter) here they come looking for a buffet lunch. They grow up to 60 inches long with a white underbelly and a small head. They feed on geckos and small insects and yes even bird eggs, see the poor mamma bird, cardinal, near the left side trunk of the tree. How do I know a snake is present in my garden? Every gecko lizard is quickly taking to high…

Loquito and Anna:Doggies on a Mountain near Mex, Switzerland
The two beautiful dogs you are about to see here are named Loquito and Anna. In the video below you might see some wild deer and a elusive type of mountain goat also. I believe the dogs are of the Border Collie breed. They help to herd some 850 sheep on a mountainside near Mex, Switzerland. When not working they love to play and chase deer thru the forest. These dogs are intensely smart and fiercely loyal but are two of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. They kept me company while I was staying in a shepherd’s mountain cabin at about 1,500 meters.

Hiking and Trekking Matterhorn, Switzerland
It’s easy to see that beautiful mountains exist in Switzerland. You don’t need to be a mountaineer to have a nice hike. Day hiking is easier than you think and the view is spectacular from every angle. Good hiking boot/sneakers, trekking poles and good light weight day pack are essential. There are several marked trails on mountains surrounding the Matterhorn. Pack you daypack with essentials including a first aid kit, water, snacks, emergency Mylar blanket, emergency matches/lighter/flashlight, emergency warm clothes (base layer top and bottom) and a good all weather sport jacket. Make a plan then take the train up from Zermatt to the top of one of the trails…

Zermatt,Switzerland, the Matterhorn and the end of my trip
Wow what a wonderful place. I don’t even have words to describe it..I did not think I would ever see it. After leaving Mex and the mountain I stayed in Saint Maurice but decided to see more by obtaining some information at the local tourist office and setting out by local train using a day pass. Such a beautiful country with amazing people and lovely mountains. The train rolled pass wine fields, small villages, flowing rivers and local people going bout their daily business. I arrived in Zermatt early in the day and treated by a few tour busses with eager Japanese, Chinese, Indians, and various other tourists from other…
