Zermatt,Switzerland, the Matterhorn and the end of my trip
Wow what a wonderful place. I don’t even have words to describe it..I did not think I would ever see it. After leaving Mex and the mountain I stayed in Saint Maurice but decided to see more by obtaining some information at the local tourist office and setting out by local train using a day pass. Such a beautiful country with amazing people and lovely mountains. The train rolled pass wine fields, small villages, flowing rivers and local people going bout their daily business. I arrived in Zermatt early in the day and treated by a few tour busses with eager Japanese, Chinese, Indians, and various other tourists from other…

Switzerland’s St. Maurice, Mex and Me, the Mountain Goat
Right now I’m sitting in the mountains above San Maurice 1.5 hrs outside Geneva on the opposite side of the lake, it’s beautiful but it was dreadful steep to get here. I had my full back pack carrying needed items and any food items I will need leaving non needed items behind in my friends car. I’m proud of myself for getting here but I’m having some strange moods here also. First let me say that I loved this mountain and I loved the opportunity to see it up close. I would not change anything because I enjoyed every minute and would do it again if I have the chance.…

Salzburg, Austria
How could I sum this amazing city in one word “su·per·ca·li·fra·gil·is·tic·ex·pi·a·li·do·cious” !!!! Yeah it was that good! Made more famous for the film The Sound of Music, this amazing little city was one of the best places I have visited. Salzburg is definitely one of my favorite things. Normally I would explore on my own but I decided to take the cheesiest tour I could find, yes one that includes all the filming locations for the movie “The Sound of Music”. Fun fact most of the city residents have never seen the movie. The tour did not disappoint, there was singing, and oooing and awwwwing in many languages. This tour ends in the heart…

Dusseldorf and Cologne, Germany
After 4 hours on the train from Amsterdam traveling in a comfortable first class cabin (cheaper than you think) I arrived in Dusseldorf around dinner time. First class on the train gave me more room, quieter atmosphere, larger seats, a work surface and additional usb or electric plugs to charge up my devices. The plan was 3 weeks including Christmas/New Years in Germany visiting a friend, visiting local Christmas markets and enjoying festive German holiday traditions within the Rhine-Westphalia region then go on to Austria. If you are a beer drinker you will love this place. The feeling I had in Dusseldorf was of a modern Industrial city and Cologne(Koln) felt like it‘s more…
