Amazing and Beautiful Concarneau, France
Want a something different outside of Paris ? I highly recommend taking a trip to northwest , France you may never leave. Concarneau is a small commune in Northwest France in the department of Brittney. It is best known for its fishing industry including, a fishing museum highlighting the history and importance that fishing and canning in the local area. Along with fishing Concarneau is also known for the Chateau de Keriolet built for a Russian princess, art and other maritime pursuits including sailing and other water sports. There are a few sailing schools located here and also located here is the Guy Cotten Factory. Guy Cotten is a well known French outdoor global clothing brand famous for its marine and industrial waterproof clothing. Important to note that the factory store is also located here. This town mostly known for the 15-16th century walled (closed) city of Concarneau, the fortified city is a historic site but is also the home to shops and homes as well as a famous chocolatier.
Overall Concarneau is a beautiful town. It’s historic, with many restaurants, shopping, water sports and beaches to keep you busy. The surrounding small towns are equally beautiful if you wish to explore further which I will show in some future videos. Be aware Concarneau gets busy in summer but has a much slower pace in winter so it’s up to you to decide when it’s best to visit. Bring a rain jacket and good walking shoes.
