Zermatt,Switzerland, the Matterhorn and the end of my trip

Wow what a wonderful place. I don’t even have words to describe it..I did not think I would ever see it. After leaving Mex and the mountain I stayed in Saint Maurice but decided to see more by obtaining some information at the local tourist office and setting out by local train using a day pass.

Such a beautiful country with amazing people and lovely mountains. The train rolled pass wine fields, small villages, flowing rivers and local people going bout their daily business. I arrived in Zermatt early in the day and treated by a few tour busses with eager Japanese, Chinese, Indians, and various other tourists from other countries. I purchased my tickets they caught the train going up to the Matterhorn. Amazing views all be it beyond the hordes of tourists. I wish i could hike down but Heelspericus (my heel spur) would not allow it.

I was in my own world here I felt like I was the only person on this mountain like I was meant to be here. After my time on top I retreated back down to Zermatt for some lunch, shopping for Merino wool camino clothes and just soaking up the ambiance. Lovely, lovely and more lovely views. If you are not hiking you will get lost among the tourist So consider train up and hiking down. Nice to see but next time I will pick a lesser known mountain to conquer. The next day I ventured out again on the train to Sion and another local village. Life is best on the road less traveled by other tourists. Time to go home…., first to London then direct to Florida. A really good trip Indeed!!!
